The goal of this course is to provide a broad overview of the essential elements of disaster/emergency preparedness and response. The course begins with setting the stage to understand existing legislation in Egypt that pertains to preparedness. This is followed by an overview of the early phases of emergency preparedness which explores risk assessment and a command and control system. The course goes on to explore in more detail, the essentials of a response to a biological, chemical and then explosive event. And then culminates with foundational information on Risk Communications, Continuity of Operations and the Behavioral Health aspects of disasters.

The course instructors have over 3 decades of combined experience in teaching emergency preparedness as it has evolved both in the U.S. and globally. They have consistently scored high in course evaluations for online instruction.
